Swanley homeowners encouraged to 'like' district council on Facebook

SWANLEY social media users can now get friendly with the district council on Facebook.
The new page titled Sevenoaks District Council Official will provide homeowners with quick access to information about future events and fresh news.
Following the launch this month, users can now access information on Facebook concerning popular festive queries such as Christmas refuse collection dates and opening times.
The page will not only operate as an additional port of call for locals but will provide links to current news updates from the council's website.
Leader of Sevenoaks District Council, Councillor Peter Fleming, thinks the Facebook page will be a great source of information for residents who regularly use the site.
He said: "As a council, we are constantly looking for the new ways to engage with our communities.
"Social media has given us an entirely new platform to work from."
